Welcome back to the One Room Challenge – I can’t believe it is already Week 4! If you have a chance be sure to check out the other talented Guest Participants progress at Calling it Home. You can see my previous weeks here – Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 . This week was most about space planning and beginning to populate the walls. Now that we have our bigger furniture – the crib, dresser and chair it’s easier to figure out where everything will go. Here were a few of my ideas as far as the room layout – pardon the post-its/scribbles/no scale – as this was done at work on a slow day! This is a smaller room, around 10×10 so we are a little limited on space but I think we made it work. We ended up going with the third option as it made the most sense with our furniture, and we can peak into the room and see the crib from the hallway which is a bonus!
The next big ticket item for the room was a rug, I wanted to follow my original idea of Navy & Orange accents so focused mainly on Navy Patterned Rugs. (*this post contains affiliate links)
Some of the links above are for smaller rugs, I was searching these focusing on the patterns. There are so many options out there and rugs can get a little expensive. We didn’t want to spend a ton since it is going into a baby room and its safe to assume it will see a lot of wear and tear.
Last week I showed you the cute Teepee Art I found at Hobby Lobby so I headed back to look for more outdoor inspired wall art and came across this USA Map – I love all of the colors and think it will make a great addition to the room!
I also saw these fun arrows – I might try to convince my husband to DIY a few for the room!
Hobby Lobby has such a great selection of wall art and home decor. As bittersweet as it is, I am glad the closest one is an hour away or I would be there all of the time! After adding the color for map I started to stir away from the focus of Navy & Orange, I ended up getting this rug at Target! I think the color flows better with the room and picks up colors in the Map.
Here is a small view of how the room is looking at this point, I love the way it looks in the natural light.
My talented sister also started making some great wall art going along with our outdoor/adventure theme. As a maker, I love being able to have handmade items in the Nursery!
For next week I’ll be sharing more of our smaller decor accents and wall art as well as our bookshelf!
Thanks for stopping by, see you during Week 5!
