Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing my former co-worker Lauren at Longeared Design! She makes one of a kind serving trays with different designs. I had one made a few years ago for a shower gift. It’s so nice to be able to custom order something and make it personal for the recipient. Lauren is very talented and has some great items available at her shop!
What is your craft/product? How did you get started?: Hand crafted serving trays. I’ve always been creative, preferring projects when I can work with my hands over writing, even in school. I started Long Eared Designs the year before I got married (just over 7 years ago) selling hair combos and ring bearer pillows. I had wedding on the brain. About an year after that I made some co-workers a couple trays as birthday presents. I had fun making them so I added them to my shop, after awhile I moved away from fabric items to wood items.
What are your can’t-live-without craft-room essentials? : My cricut
How would you describe your style? Are there any crafters/artists/designers that you particularly look up to? : New England Rustic
What do you do to make your workspace an enriching and inspiring place to be?: I’m currently working on my new craft studio after buying a new house, I want my space to feel like my escape. Cool grey colors paired with deep teal accents, carrying my brand into my work space
What do you find inspiring you right now? Where do you look for inspiration?: I find inspiration all over but I look at blogs, mainly diy and craft blogs
What do you do to keep yourself organized?: I’m currently moving into a new studio space so I’m trying to cut back on the random craft things I have in my space
How to you combat creative blocks?: Take a break, I tend to work in clumps. I may not produce new designs for months but then I’ll hit a creative spirt and produce a bunch of new trays at once.
Where do you sell your product? How can customers follow you? : http://longeareddesigns.com
Here is the tray I had made for one of my friends a few years ago, it was perfect for a shower gift and she has it on display in her kitchen!
Be sure to check out Lauren and her amazing work, and remember to shop small this Holiday Season!
