Today on Features at 52 I am sharing Chelsea from Sweet Evelyn Designs! Chelsea makes beautiful bows, headbands, bloomers and more. She has an adorable shop and has an eye for color and fun patterns. I think she needs to add some adult bows to her shop! 🙂
What is your craft/product? How did you get started?: Hi! Chelsea here! I’m the owner + designer of Sweet Evelyn Designs. I make bows, bow ties, felt flower crowns, turban headbands + bracelets. We are also currently perfecting our bloomer + leggings designs and can hardly wait to show you! Here’s a little background about how we got started…
I started my shop when my daughter Evelyn was a baby, four years ago! (Hence the shop name) last year I decided to close the shop for a bit while I adjusted to three kids and homeschooling. I couldn’t stay away from the handmade community so we started brand repping! I turned my business account into our personal/ rep feed. Now that My youngest is over a year I’ve decided now would be a good time to reopen with a spring launch in February! I would love for you to follow along as I open a fresh + new business instagram and post spring sneak peeks!

What are your can’t-live-without craft-room essentials? : Last year my husband helped me redesign my craft corner and now it’s so well organized! My essentials include: my sewing machine, a good pair of scissors and my handy table top ironing pad! Seriously, you need one!
How would you describe your style? Are there any crafters/artists/designers that you particularly look up to? : I gravitate towards natural tones + florals! And good texture is a must! But I do have to say, I am having so much fun incorporating the vibrant spring colors + prints into our spring collections! And when it comes to other designers I look up to. Well there are numerous amazing small shop owners within the handmade community that I will always look up to and lean on for guidance!
What do you do to make your workspace an enriching and inspiring place to be?: Organization! I cannot work in clutter lol. And Netflix. I love watching a good movie while making bows.
What do you find inspiring you right now? Where do you look for inspiration?: As I work on our spring collection I created a list of things that make me think of spring. Flowers, fruit, watercolor paintings, + vibrant colors. And of course linen is a must in every seasonal collection!
What do you do to keep yourself organized?: I am serious about my lists. My lists even have lists lol. But in all seriousness, I have a daily “to do” list and a business binder with all that I need. Size charts, current orders + inventory.
How to you combat creative blocks?: Scrolling through Pinterest is always a good way to look at “all the petty things”. I also lean on my mom + sister for their opinions!
Where do you sell your product? How can customers follow you? : https://facebook.com/groups/
